Buddy’s Harlan & Alondra album dropped on July 20th, and ever since then I’ve been playing the hell out of this album. I absolutely love Buddy. He has a great talent of embodying the feel of Los Angeles, California. I can say this with confidence due to the couple of times I’ve visited LA. Harlan & Alondra is like the perfect album to add to a Cali playlist while driving down La Cienega avenue. ‘Trouble On Central’, ‘Black’, and ‘Shameless’ are the tracks that I’m constantly coming back to. One thing that I found interesting about this album is that the title is (another) ode to one of the places that Buddy has lived within California. His last project, Ocean & Montana are the street crossings near a beach in Santa Monica where he used to reside. Considering that Buddy was around the age of 15 when he started making music, the growth that’s showcased on this album is very admirable. There was more transparency being delivered compared to his previous projects. You can hear this in ‘Real Life S**t’, and ‘Find Me 2’. It sounds like Buddy is getting more comfortable with letting his fans get a glimpse of his personal life. I can truly appreciate this because I feel like he has A LOT to offer the industry. I noticed that Buddy is starting to release music on a consistent basis as of late. With that being said, I will be on high alert on all upcoming work from him.
